Homeless Part 2
I woke up from a long nap this afternoon and had NO idea where I was.
I always tell people that I [ everybody? ] find it disturbing to wake up and not know immediately where I am. Travelling always does that to me. While this trip is only 15 days long so far… the disorientation seems just to get worse every day. Then I realized that in reality – this has been the case since I sold my house in June. It has been an endless string of mornings figuring out where I am. Waking up in the van provides some orientation, but once I swing open the door – it’s a variable again. Eric and I got the keys to our new place 8/15 – but 6[?] non-consecutive nights sleeping there did not provide a sense of home yet. For the record since June –
42[?] Nights at my brothers
29 Nights in the van [ in Angelica NY, my sisters front yard, a hospital parking lot, Allentown PA, Gerlach NV,Big Sur Ca, Santa Cruz, CA, Salt Lake City Ut, Omaha Nb
5 Nights in hotels in Sandusky Ohio,Cleveland, Ohio, New Jersey, Cheyenne Wyoming, Carson City Nevada
2 Nights at my cousins in Chicago and Modesto
1[?] night at the hospital with my brother
coming up
3-4 nights in Venice CA
5-7 nights in Phoenix
10[?] more nights in the van.
So, while I am glad to be taking this trip - [since June? ]
it will be nice to home again someday.
