Welcome to LA
Not wanting to miss a regional experience, I arrived in LA in time for Friday night rush hour. Great Fun. I headed right to my friend Lynn’s house in Venice and beat most of the traffic. We unloaded my bike and headed across LA to join up with Ride ARC – a biking group Lynn belongs to. Tonight – the group was touring 10 bridges of LA with a night time bike ride. I asked Lynn what size the group would be 10? 30? Only to find ourselves among 120 blinking pedaling bikers all quietly racing along on the dark LA streets to bridge after bridge. Definitely a fun night to bike. The weather was nice and as it got later, the traffic thinned out quite a bit.
After the bike ride ended near SCiARC, Lynn ran me by Union station for some night time pics.
After that – we decided to bike home to Venice. Not being a native nor a regular biker – I had no real scale of the bike ride home. So we biked back across all of LA to Venice. We took some great night time pics along the way and as the night got later [1:00am?] we had the streets mostly to ourselves. Actually a neat way to see the city.
I wish I had been a little less spent from the days drive to enjoy it more. As it was – the full day drive and the biking put me on the grumpy reserve battery and we arrived home around 1:30.
