Dust storms
It would not be fair to experience Burning Man without getting to witness a genuine dust storm. We had three. Basically 40+ winds kick in and the place turns into a total white out. Lasting various times – Mike and I spent all of them [?] holed up in my van [ temp 98 – 105 degrees] The last [?] was the fiercest. I was out at the temple when a truck with a loud speaker came out warning everyone to get off the playa and take shelter. They said we had twenty minutes to find shelter. So I hightailed in back to camp and found mike hanging out and told him about the warning. Sure enough – approximately 20 minutes later – a fast moving WALL of wind and dust swept in. We were lucky to get most of the camp tied down before it rolled in. A lot of people got caught outside and really caught a lung full. I captured a couple of pics and a movie of the storm.
After the storm blew through – A double rainbow appeared over the whole camp. The best I have ever seen. Very intense. I shot this pic and movie of the rainbow.
